Abhijit completed his BA (Honours) degree in economics at the University of Delhi and his MA in global political economy at the University of Hull. He also has a master's degree in international business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi. He lectured in the Department of Economics at the University of Sheffield and worked as a postdoctoral research economist at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London, on a project on econometric modelling of technology adoption. Abhijit is a Research Fellow at the Rimini Centre for Economic Analysis at the University of Bologna, Italy [www.rcfea.org]. Teaching: Quantitative Methods and Econometrics (postgraduate) Business Economics (undergraduate) Economics of Industry (undergraduate) Research interests: International economics Applied industrial organisation, including industrial restructuring Applied econometrics (especially time series) Abhijit's particular research interest is analysing the impact of economic liberalisation and openness on industrial restructuring. Research projects: Abhijit is currently involved In two research projects. He is working on a RELU/ESRC project on Technology Adoption Decisions and Pesticide Reduction in UK Agriculture, with researchers at Imperial College London and the University of Kent. He is also working on a project sponsored by the Food Standards Agency, on the Effectiveness of the Reduced Salt Campaign, with researchers at the University of Kent. On both projects he is working on econometric modelling and estimation aspects.
